Meet the PRSPT4KIDS Team!

Robin Shepard, MSPT

Robin Shepard graduated from Andrews University in Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anatomy & Physiology in 1987 and Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1988. She knew in her college years that her focus would be in pediatrics. For the first 10 years of practice, she was working with all populations. Her family moved to North Carolina in 1991, and she has been serving Western North Carolina since that time. In 1998, she found that her love for children drew her to focus on pediatric physical therapy, and she started PRSPT4Kids. Robin works with the Children’s Developmental Services Agency and Polk County Schools to directly meet the needs of children in her community. She oversees the care of every patient at PRSPT4Kids.

Robin and her husband, Bob, have been married for 31 years. They have five children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, Robin loves animals, enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, playing sports, and eating healthy.

Kara Stafford, PTA

Kara Stafford graduated from Greenville Technical College in South Carolina in 2001 with a Physical Therapist Assistant Associate of Applied Science. She spent her first four years working in the outpatient setting. In 2005, Kara began focusing on pediatrics as part of the PRSPT4Kids team. She worked with children in Rutherford County Schools until 2012. Since 2007, she has worked in the home health setting with natural environment care in Rutherford and McDowell counties.

Kara enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She loves cheering her children on while attending their sporting events. She is faithful to her church and loves the things of God. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping and finding new adventures; including zip lining, white water rafting, and skydiving. Kara would love to cheer your child on and help them to have great adventures as part of their care team!

Whitney Chandler, PTA

Whitney Chandler worked as a nanny for several years before graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with a double major in Psychology and Communication Studies in 2012. Then, she received her Associate of Science Degree to become a Physical Therapy Assistant from South College of Asheville in 2016. Whitney is certified to do Dynamic Movement Interventions, comprehensive interventions that incorporate current research on neurorehabilitation, technologies, and methodologies. She chose pediatric physical therapy because of her love of children and her desire to help them to have full movement.

Whitney has a wide variety of interests. She loves to be active: hiking, playing with her dogs, enjoying a game of disc golf, having family time, and going on adventures with her fiancé, Zach. She is a faithful supporter of Alabama football. Recently, Whitney has been learning piano & sign language. When she has down time, she loves to craft.
